Ianto was walkng up and down the rows of small square boxes that the Muggles called DVDs in what the sign identified as Network Video Store. Ianto was learning more about the Muggles and he had gone to this big Muggle store named after some Muggle 'Harvey Normal' or something like that. He used some of the money his mum sent him to stay away to get a new house and now had set about decking it out after the basics of sofa, chairs, etc. The Muggle clerk had suggested something called a TV so Ianto decided to go with one that had something called surround sound and a Blu Ray, what ever that was.
So now, here he is in the store that had all the DVD things so he could use this TV thing. There was only one problem. There were so many to choose from and Ianto had never seen a single Muggle DVD thing in his life. He had pick up some of the boxes but they seemed a bit strange some thing called a tallytubbie and a bear in a blue house. Ianto was feeling a little well lost in this Muggle world but he was hell bent on knowing as much about the Muggle world and the deeper he got in, to the more of a chance there was of his family, Tamika and his father, should he be persuaded to come and get him, hate him and want to leave him here in Australia. All he wanted was to be far away from all the lies.
He turned and and saw some one walk past. "Umm some help please," Ianto asked

Olivia was bored, that wasn't surprising since she'd been at work two hours and so far only a few regular customers had dropped by to hire anything. Well that and her Dad who seemed to insist on checking in after work to see how she was.. that was sooo embarrassing. Life she guessed was good enough, school was school nomatter where you where but getting to share a room with Storm made it that much better. Tapping her fingers against the counter she glanced around for her boss but he was nowhere to be found.. typical. Olivia was hoping to sneak out for a cigarette but even she knew it probably wouldn't look good on her resume to be caught leaving the store unmanned for any amount of time. So with not much to do she pulled out her mobile to send a text to Storm before looking up as a woman walked in to place a stack of returns on the counter.. ohgood something to do! Waving goodbye to the lady Olivia grabbed the DVD's scanning the barcodes before taking the disks out and returning them to the draws where the original copies where stored.
Man.. lady sure had some crappy taste. But of course that was the downside of her job, she couldn't tell people not to hire rubbish like Twilight and had to put up with the stupid trailers running whenever a new film came out. With a sigh as she glared at yet another moronic Disney film made for stupid tweens Olivia clicked the plastic security lock into place before adventuring into the shelves to return them to their proper place. 'Stupid movies for morons..... Disney... humm.. classic? or did Edward Scissorhand belong in Fantasy?' Olivia checked the side of the case, frowning as she read the shorthand texta scrawl..'Family?.. eh whatever' though what kind of family would happily sit down to watch such a film was beyond her. Cool families maybe, certainly if she ever had a family they'd totally grow up watching Friday the 13th part 405 or whatever was out and good at the time. As if, Olivia knew he chances of ever being 'normal' was less then that of every copy made of Breaking Dawn spontaneously combusting to case third degree burns to everyone involved in bringing such a load of crap to the screen. She'd almost choked on her popcorn when she and Storm had gone to see Harry Potter and they'd been forced to watch the trailer.. seriously the whole thing made no sense at all.
In between her musing Olivia heard a voice pipe up, she hadn't really been paying that much attention to the other people in the store as she finished putting the DVD cases away before heading deeper into the 'nice' section (which for some unfathomable reason in the logic of all video shops had the porno's right next to them so any kid could just wander into the section by accident). Oh.. it was ..that guy...... Olivia scraped her mind for a name but none came forward except that he worked at the school. Like most teenagers Olivia didn't pay that much attention to the world of adults, she hadn't even noticed him as she walked past but turning back she shrugged, realising her nametag was a giveaway that she was supposed to help him.. it was her job and all that after all. A pity because this was where things always got that bit awkward. Olivia shrugged and walked up to the guy, it had always been a bit weird trying to serve people when you couldn't speak and most of the time people just stared at her like a freak. Pulling out her phone she quickly typed
[ What help do u want? ]
holding the screen up to the taller guy. Just what was he doing here in the kids section anyway?

Ianto stopped and looked at the girl he was sure she was the mute from the school and this was confirmed when she held up the phelly phone with a question on it.
Knowing that she was a witch was going to make this easier he hopped as was hard just trying to work this out.
"ummm I just got this blu ray DVD thing and need things to make stuff show umm up on the tv thing" Ianto knew he sounded like an idiot but decided in for a penny in for a pound.
Ianto started to rock from heel to toe in this doc martins Ianto always did this when he was uncomfortable and being in the middle of a Muggle shop not knowing anything about what it sold and having to ask a student for help was just such a situation.
Ianto was very unsure if this Muggle tv thing was any good there seamed to be very little of any real value In the section he had looked at naked lady and bears with tv in there bellies really if this was what Muggle did in there spare time then Ianto could see why they never made it very far and why wizard kind looked down on them.
But he decided if the helpful girl could not show him any thing good he just keep the tv and only use it when Tamika came over as he knew she would as she never gave up with out a fight.

Olivia had been annoyed before but now she was glad her Boss was out when she'd recognized one of the people from her school. It was pretty clear the moment he started speaking that the guy wasn't all there when it came to her world.. the world of Muggles as apparently some liked to call it. Rolling her eyes Olivia quickly typed.
[ Do you want DVD OR Bluray? ]
Trusting that the guy wouldn't be stupid enough to steal her mobile she handed it to him to read before grabbing a DVD of Care Bares Volume 3, and held it up next to the Bluray of Edward Scissorhand she hand in her hand, pointing to each in turn to show how one was in a blue case and the other was older looking. Olivia just hoped that the guy knew because from what he'd said she didn't even know if he realized the tv and dvd player needed to be hooked up and plugged in before being usable. Goat knew he probably thought it was all some kind of magic! That made Olivia smirk a bit as she put the dvd back on the shelf and put her hands in the pockets of her hoodie. While Olivia wasn't really into movie stuff and had certainly thought Harry Potter was uncool when everyone at school had gotten into reading it there was some amusement in finding out that it was 'based on a true story'. It sure made History of Magic better when she could just watch the movies instead of studying.. even if she got graded down on getting things wrong because they had been 'dramatised' and not fully accurate in the films.
It didn't stop her from liking her Slytherin hoodie though, even if she'd never been to Hogwarts it amused her to think that she was part of a secret society of sorts to know that magic was really real, and all the kids who used to pick on her in primary school would run screaming if they knew what she could do now. So too would her Dad probably if he knew the truth of everything she'd done. Olivia sighed at that thought, she used to lie to him about school all the time and coming to Australia she'd made a promise to tell him the truth. That hadn't even lasted a week.
Gesturing for the guy to give her phone back Olivia waited before adding
[ What do you want a tv and all that suff for anyway? ]
a frown on her face as her phone autocorrected the word on her making her retype half her sentence again. That was the downside of the phone, at least when she used a pen she could write just what she meant and not have to worry about getting the wrong button that deleted everything she'd written. For a moment it made her think about her Dad saying how they could try seeing a magical healer to see about her throat, Olivia had turned it down on the fact that she was tired of the endless doctors and healers where no different in her mind. So what if they could grow back bones! She'd spent sixteen years of her life learning to live without a voice, it was who she was and Olivia wasn't about to change a thing. Plus in many ways she liked it, not having to talk meant people left you alone and for the most part Olivia liked the peace.. or at least until someone went on and ruined it for her.

Ianto was reading the fellyphone DVD or blu ray?
"what's the difference, dose it matter?" Ianto asked her she asked them what he wanted a tv for, that in it self was a good question.
" well I umm you see I need one ... I'd like" Ianto just rambled on then stop feeling like a bit of a fool.
"well like to try Muggle stuff" Ianto answered lamely .
Ianto looked around the shop
"I really just need some good stuff that shows the best of Muggle DVDs things." cantos said to the girl
" you're Olivia aren't you" Ianto was now finding he was very good at. Remembering names these days not sure how that happen he couldn't get anything right his whole life now he could remember names make grass grow really fast and hated cars that much he was sure of made he really sick they did and now he was looking for Muggle stuff.

So far Olivia had gotten by okay with her job, people tended to know what they wanted or if not she could point them towards something that would work. Never had she had to explain something as complicated as the difference between bluray and dvd. With a sigh she just shrugged at what the difference was before she nodded that yes it did matter.
[ A Bluray will only play in a bluray player
a dvd will play in both ]
She typed after getting her phone back. This was starting to get frustrating, normally there would be someone else on hand to take over from her when things got 'awkward' but she had a feeling her boss had nicked down the street to get some dinner and forgotten all about her. That happened a lot in her life.
Kicking her feet against the worn carpet she didn't much care really as to why the guy had all of a sudden decided to get with the twenty-first century.. at least until the M word dropped from his lip.. paranoid Olivia held a finger to her own and glanced around, Muggle was still a word that wasn't supposed to be mentioned around well.. Muggles.. even if most people knew what it meant these days and probably just thought you where a nerd.
Mind you that was probably a improvement, Olivia had never really paid attention to the guy, she knew that he worked at the school and tended to dress rather like a goth himself. Back then he'd been just part of the 'background' of things that didn't directly apply to her so she never really paid attention to him apart from noting that he looked pretty ridiculous to the point of giving Goth's a bad name. It was enough to make her wonder if Goths weren't a more normal thing in the wizarding world. Maybe Marlyn Manson was a wizard? Olivia couldn't help a small smirk at that thought. Either way Olivia brightened up when he started mentioning what he was after.. oh that was easy! They had magazines for that on the counter! Nodding that she was indeed Olivia she held up a finger to wait a moment before running down the aisle and grabbing a Chill Magazine off the front counter. Running back she held it up and then offered it to the guy with a smirk. Now hopefully he'd go away and she could get back to wasting her time until her shift was over.

Ianto looked at the girl as she handed him the magazine 'chill ' odd name for a mag any way.
"Thank you" Ianto nodded to the girl he read the secton on new releases he then decided the best way to solve his problem as to what to get he just get them all well the new ones any way.
Ianto walked to the counter and reached in to his pocket and got out his handy dandy gringots credit card linked to his vault (in the Muggle world it was more like a debit card but when goblines decide to name some thing after muggles it kinda goes wrong anyway) It was a outer level which was sort of an off grey colour it was a top of the line card gringots gave him this card on the bases of his family credit and that he now had a good income and a lot of money in his vault thanks to his mother.
Ianto never really cared about the family money since being cut off some years ago but it was nice to have some of it again.
"i would like to know can i buy all the new releases please?" Ianto had decoved that very few Muggle people question you when you have a plastic card they seamed to just except it it worked better than trying to sort out Muggle money.
Ianto was really happy he was going to have quite the DVD thing collection to get his new life started.
"Can i get them delivered" Ianto also had leaned that this made things easier to as shrinking charms and spells really worked when he cast them.
Muggle love to deliver thing
Ianto smirked to him self life is good here.

Olivia shrugged a 'no worries', it certainly had seemed a good idea at the time to get a job at a video shop but now she was worried that she'd bitten off more then she could chew so to speak when it came to the customer service. 'Or maybe just the wizard service?' Olivia thought as she followed the man back to the front counter with concern that he might do something 'weird' and get her in trouble. Who knew maybe he'd try licking the Chubba Chump display or something?
Though it seemed the guy just hadn't gotten her point to chose some of the dvds from the wall display and instead he just put some plastic down on the counter. Only it looked weird.. Olivia picked it up and blinked at the Gringotts logo printed on what she'd first thought to be just a plain credit card. That was so cool.. Olivia had never been to Gringotts and frankly didn't have a galleon to her name since the ministry had seen to setting her up with her first school supplies and Muggles United had seen to the rest. She'd never really felt poor though, it was dollars and cents that mattered to her and not the weird wizard currency with fancy names and numbers that didn't make sense.
'I wonder if it even works?' Olivia thought and then stared at I.Parker as the card declared as if he was absolutely insane. He wanted to buy ALL the new release stock? Was that even possible? It did seem like it should have been, after all they sold lots of used and some new DVDs so it wouldn't have been so weird to sell all of them right? What did that even mean anyway? Did he want every single copy on the shelves or just one of each? Olivia figured it was probably best to go with common sense and held up a finger to tell Ianto to wait while she hunted around for a pen and paper, this was going to take awhile as she grabbed the wheely trolly they used for inventory and quickly went along chucking one copy of each dvd and bluray in the plastic bin. If this was a prank she was so going to curse the guy as she realized that not only did she have to scan every single one, but she had to find the disk and put them all in.. then explain to her boss why most of the shelves where now half empty. To make matters worse now he was asking for them to be delivered. Olivia stumbled on this one, they didn't do delivery.. and maybe he'd just got them and the pizza shop down the road mixed up? More this was all looking like a extravagant prank but Olivia stuck on and just shook her head that no they didn't deliver... or at least not without her boss saying otherwise!
Olivia was still busy clicking open DVD cases and piling up disks when her boss walked in, one glance between her and the guy and she knew she was in trouble as his eyes boggled slightly at the mess on the counter. "Olivia.. a word.." was all that was said and her face paled, she was going to get fired wasn't she? Either way she grabbed her mobile and followed her boss to the further end of the room, trying her best to explain what had happened in Muggle terms. Of course the whole attitude changed once 'credit card' was mentioned and the next moment he was assuring Ianto that they'd be perfectly happy to make a delivery to his address as long as it wasn't too far and that he'd have all his movies by this time the next day. All and all Olivia had to give a sigh of relief as her boss patted her on the shoulder and congratulated her for a 'job well done'. Though the more skeptical part of her mind had to wonder if there would be any money going her way for her efforts. None of course being the answer as Olivia was left to finish organizing the stack of dvd's as her boss rung up the sale, Olivia being more then a bit surprised when the sale cleared and was approved. Who'd ever have thought of wizards having credit cards? The magical world just seemed to be getting weirder and weirder in Olivia's eyes.
