The Game's Afoot

"All right then, Lisa," Emma spoke to the small girl guide in the hospital bed. "You keep getting better and I'll stop by tomorrow with those books you wanted," she promised, hugging Lisa and waving to Lisa's mums as she turned and headed out the door. It frustrated Emma that Lisa had to spend time in the hospital like this but at least she was improving and it helped in the long run. Her shoes were silent on the tiled floor as she walked, the advantage of soft soles.

Also, one of the disadvantages when you're not really paying attention to where you're going or who or what may be in your path which is what led her to walk straight into someone as she walked off the elevator into the lobby of the hospital. "Oh! Sorry! Excuse me," she quickly apologized while trying to maintain her balance.

Dunena was walking back in to the hospital after a stop at the Melbourne WWBN offices to prep for his next show. Dunena was really not paying attention to what was going on around him he was just thinking every thing seamed harder now coming up with ideas and just walking thro the day everything seamed to take twice as long and twice as much work to do what used to be easy.
The doctor told him this feeling would go away but dunena was not so sure. it was as he was thinking this he collided with someone.
As dunena reach out to try and help steady the Woman Yep it was definitely a woman and Dunena was sure he meet her before even from this rather a loft position
AS she looked up and apologised for running in to him dunena put a name to the face
"Emma" Dunena said out load just a little shocked "Umm No my fault i wasn't watching were i was going" Dunena said in one breath stopping to think when was the last time he had see her. god remembering was hard he was really foggy on details most of the time but it had some thing to do with coffee and 'THE WOMAN' as he had come to call Fifi.
"Are you Ok?" dunena asked as he waited for her to regain her footing

"No.. I mean Yes... I mean No, it was my fault but yes I'm Emma. But how did you know?" She managed to get out as she kept her balance and looked at the man she had just run into, thinking he looked familiar and having this feeling of deja vu about recognizing him recently, or somewhen recently. "You.. Coffee... Bluebird.. You're Bluebird.. I mean Dunena.. I mean .........." Yes folks, this articulate (Not!) speech was coming from the president of the Debate Team in her final year of university. Isn't it nice to see she remembered all that training about responding in moments of pressure? (Turns away to laugh before resuming)

"It's good to see you," she finally managed to get out. "Though I thought the Global Voice said you were back in the states?" She smiled at his concern, "I'm fine really. I should have been paying attention to where I was going. One of my little Girl Guides is in the hospital and my mind was on her."

Dunena stood and watch as the Emma stumbled over her words in a very Cute and dare he say sexy manner.
"Yes It's Dunena Yes and coffee love that stuff" Dunena said in a very casual tone as she went on to tell him what to globe voice had to say and why see was here at this hospital at this time.

"Well i had some stuff to deal with here you know" Dunena hope that this would move them on to other thing but to make sure he spoke on.
"Poor kid i hope she get better soon. So ummm" Dunena decided to take to bull by the horn and ask her for a drink. " so you want to go get coffee? i'm sure there's a Starbucks around here somewhere as a sorry for running you down" Dunena was not sure how he had just done it but only 2 week after getting back on the air and staying clean he was asking a woman out. Dunena was waiting for the people in his life to run up and ask were the hell was the real Dunena Reid.

"Hi Dunena," she said, smiling and if one Abigail Wright had been there, she'd have probably giggled at the smile her Girl Guide leader had right now. "Coffee's good," she agreed, "Though I do have to say I love brown eyes...... I mean tea! Cup of tea is good, too," she corrected herself, wondering whatever made her say brown eyes instead of tea, not that the fact she was staring at his face which contained a pair of lovely (in her opinion) brown eyes. "Oh? Stuff to deal with? Does that mean you're back at the Ministry here?" Emma asked a bit hopefully, figuring 'stuff' meant Ministry business since that was where they had first met, "Or just visiting for a while?"

Emma gave him a small smile. "Thanks, she should be fine in a few days. Has some health issues and every once in a while, has to come here," Emma explained to him. At his invite, she nodded, "I'd like that. Yes, there's one not far from here. Out that way," she told him, pointing to the exit that would put them closer to the cafe.

Dunena was feeling just a little giddy when Emma said she liked brown eyes was she hitting on him.

Dunena had never really flirted with women before he just was not interested till he meet Emma at the VMOM over some paper work and then at a cafe and now he was asking for a date and they were going to go and get coffee maybe and he liked the idea for the first time he like the idea of dating and he really wanted to.
Dunena laugh at lightly and answered "I like tea too" she went on to ask about ministry " No I'm not back at the ministry just hanging out doing some follow up on my show." Dunena gave a cute half smile.
" yep we all get sick sometimes" Dunena said as she excepted his invention to coffee Dunena extended his elbow to Emma it was a jester his father made him learn in pure blood family training that all of his kind long long line of blood wizards his cousins were at the season training.
" so how have you been since I last ran in to you?" dunena asked as he waited for her to take his arm.

Her expression gave a hint of disappointment at finding out he was not back in Australia for good but probably leaving again, only here to follow up on his show. Taking his offered arm, she led them to the coffee shop, talking as they walked. At his question about how things had been since he left, Emma told him of spending time with the families over the holidays, her cousin's engagement to the woman who managed the coffee shop they had last seen each other at and, realizing he hadn't heard about it yet, about moving her shop to Melbourne. By the time they finished they had arrived at the cafe and ordered their drinks. Settled at a table after ordering their beverages, Emma deciding on a shaken not stirred iced green tea lemonade. "So, what have you been up to since we last saw each other?" she asked him.

Dunena was so pleased when she took his arm but could not help but not she seamed a little put off by his answer about not working at the VMOM again.
He nodded politely as she told him about the lovely lady from the coffee shop getting engaged and that she had moved here shop from the outback as dunena called it to the city which would make his return vist to see her better as dunena was sure he would be as she was a just a lovely and he real wanted to see her again after today.
They arrived at Starbucks as they sat Emma ordered a iced tea.
" skinny caramel macchiato please" Dunena loved that drink. and then she asked what he had been doing.
" we'll I've been stricken it to the man. The man being ronald Frump our Minister of magic. Oh and a coursed a riot at the mainstay in New York. That was a fun day well until I had to explain it to my boss and got pulled off the air and returned and now I'm here with you" Dunena smiled sweetly at her.

Settled with their respective beverages, Emma couldn't help but grin as Dunena talked about his latest round of sticking it, as he called it, to the American Minister of Magic. There had been a few articles in the wizarding newspapers about it, especially the riot that ensued. "Yes," she told him, "They wrote a bit about it here in the paper. Sounds like you had a right busy time of it," she teased him. Emma blushed when he mentioned being with her. "I am glad you're back, even if only for a bit," she admitted. "Though," she began, pausing a minute before going on, "Did someone really try to burn your apartment down?" That too had managed to make one of the back pages of the news section, since it wasn't really a local story.

Dunena sat and spied at his drink as Emma talked and gave a small laugh at the her stating that he'd been busy with regards to the riot. "Yes, I'm back and I can visit often you know." Dunena sat forward at her question about the apartment fire. "Well, yes, it is true and they succeeded In doing so. It was unrepairable. I had to move to a new place but it has more room now. You know that one of the reasons for the riot there was this woman. The woman was framed for the fire. Well, after they framed Bill and Ted ( the Llamas) but they didn't do it and neither did the woman. So I'm still hunting for the real person, the same person that sent the misleading photos, and helped me start a riot" Dunena stopped to take a sip of his coffee he love so much.

"Enough about fires and stuff. Tell me about your self? What do you like, I mean other than brown eyes?" Dunena smiled at the beautiful blond with the most amazing smile.

He could visit? Well that was good, better than not being able to come back at all but Emma wasn't sure how often he meant he could visit and wasn't going to ask for now. She'd just wait to see what happened. Instead, she focused on the conversation as it turned to the fire that had destroyed his apartment. "That part of the story confused me," she admitted. "Llamas? You actually have llamas?" she asked with amazement. If someone had asked her what were the type of pets someone like Dunena Reid would have, Emma might have thought about a cat or perhaps a large dog but not llamas. Of course the big question was "But why would someone want to do that?" Emma couldn't see Dunena doing anything that would make someone want to go to such lengths.

At Dunena's question about things she liked, Emma couldn't avoid blushing at the reminder of her earlier outburts. "Well, knitting. I love knitting and cupcakes. Peacocks are my favorite creature. Girl Guides, the color turquoise," she listed, before asking him, "So what about you? What are some of your likes?"

dunena said and watch as emma asked him with amazement about Bill and ted (the Llamas). and gave a little laugh as he answered.
"Yes i have 2 Llamas Bill and Ted i fund them in the Victorian ministry when i worked there they war kept in cages not really sure what for anyway they are great friends there on Holiday here in australia right now just to keep them safe." Dunena listen as she asked why would anyone try to burn his house.
" I have said somethings on my show that made some people unhappy, I learning that being on radio has some you know issues."
Dunena sipped at his new favourite thing Coffee the guys at the hospital say he has an additive personalty what ever that means, all Blah Blah be vigilant and what what you doing Blah Blah How do you feel? Dunena was really not liking rehab he was surpassed to be there right now he only meant to leave to go to work and come back for counselling and group chit chat seasons that made him want to blow his brains out they alway want to know what made him start taking drugs and drinking ECT.
"Knitting cool never really saw the point tho you can just charm them to do it them self. Peacocks that have shine tails they look cool" Maybe i should buy one for her Dunena was surprised by her question most people just assumed he was like just the guy he was on air.
"Umm well Have two Llamas but you knew that. Like you cupcakes live them there this place in DC that make the best Cupcakes i will bring you some when i'm in town next. " Dunena really didn't want to tell her his favourite thing ever was the feeling you got just after you shot up and the shine colours.
"Green that my colour Love shine green stuff" Dunena finished his coffee.

"You rescued them?" she asked, amazed and continued on with her questions. "From the Ministry here? You mean they would have done experiments on them?" Emma had heard stories about them using animals for magical experiments and spell practice. Wasn't much different from Muggle laboratories and institutions. This sort of made him a hero to her because he save the poor llamas from their fate. "I think that's great. I'd love to have some land one day and have some llamas and sheep to gather fleece from them for spinning." Yes, Emma had a dream and it totally involved her fiber arts.

Her smile faded a bit when Dunena mentioned it was probably faster to magically create the sweater from the yarn. "I wouldn't know," she said, a bit quieter than she had been before but managed to smile again when he admitted to liking cupcakes, too. Okay, so it really made her smile when he said he'd bring her one next time he came because that meant that yes, she would see him again. Learning his favorite color, she thought of some patterns that would make nice green sweaters for him. "So how long will you be in Melbourne?"

"Yep saved from a fate worse than death i be saying that office was above mine and some of the animal come out of there a little worse than when they went in, Land theres not much of that in New york city but hey you could get some peacocks and they could walk free and be all shiny"
Dunena was sure that he had said some thing wrong when the light dimmed in her eyes after he said about the knitting thing. she wouldn't know what did that mean.
"you've never tried knitting with magic before?" Dunena didn't knew that Emma was Muggle if he had he would have been less with the magic thing To dunena she just came across as a traditionalist about Knitting nothing wrong with that.
"I mean hay do it the traditional way works to love that hands on stuff just never had the skills to knit tho not a you know co ordinate that well so magic makes it easier" Dunena was bring to fix what ever he said to make the light dim in her eyes he love that light in her eyes already and he hated that he made he less happy with in minutes of talking to her.
"Umm i'm in melbourne for maybe a few more days have to get back and you make trouble for Frump and his Cronies" Dunena winked as the word trouble. Dunena was so internist by Emma he forget he had run out of coffee.
