Polls closed just minutes ago but with the expertise of the finest countermonkey's have projected a landslide win for former WWBN Mad Mad World Host Dunena Reid.
Exit poll results give a strong 80% majority result for the newcomer with some even choosing to vote for exotic animals then give a vote to Frump in what has to be his worst result ever.
You heard it here first, Dunena Reid is the new American Minister for Magic!

Happy 3 months of operation guys M currently has the flu so expect this update to be even less sane and rational then usual mkay. So first, the obvious one, the much spoken about upgrade has arrived, and gone mostly without a hitch. This means that if the board looks 'funky' you might just need to clear you cache. Clicky [here] for a nice easy to follow guide as to how. You'll find that the sidebar now has panels, from there you will be able to access links to your profile, help and all sorts of stuff. It does require Javascript though, and cookies if you want to save your position between pages. Our current theme is called 'No News is Good News' and inspired by The Universal Sigh a event that helped inspire Wizards Without Boundaries to come into being. There's still a couple of little bits and pieces to fix and M will be working on that over the coming weeks to insure any little quirks and creases are ironed out. We're still having some trouble with profiles not updating, M is on it but please do let her know the names of the account, web browser and operating system your using. Also Forumotion had a unexpected slow down in a small part of the USA/Canada a couple of days ago that may have hit some users of Wizards Without Boundaries, apparently it was a routing problem with some DNS Hosts.. go figure, not our fault. but Forumotions working on it to give faster service and ensure that doesn't happen again. In other news M has been really inspired to watch the growth of WWBN and The Global Voice really bringing some new types of storytelling and roleplay to the table, it's wonderful to see the big media organizations active and to support that we've given Weird Weird World along with the WWBN News at 5 their own blogs so top stories can run on the main page along with The Global Voice. As of last night we've also added some new usergroups for the two media organizations, along with the big schools and universities to make it easy to find characters at your own school or organization. In time as the board grows and demand increases groups will be tailored to fit them too. Which does beg a question.. how big should a board be? and how many characters should a single member be allowed to play at once? to be honest M has no answers, except that diversity, time and making the effort to roleplay all your characters is important to keep the world vibrant and interesting. I'm not a fan of 'one main character does everything', and usually it is the fault of not giving members the freedom to really play the range of characters they want that leads to it. So love your characters, play as many as your comfortable but we ask for you to try to be diverse, we don't want one member playing 12 blond teens nor another with 4 Quidditch champs. Mix it up and push your imagination to the limits. You'll soon see no doubt that both M and "Q" play a wide range of characters, thats because we find it important to always have someone to offer a thread no matter where and what is going on. Diversity makes great roleplay, try it yourself. I'd love to see you guys bringing new characters in from other parts of the world, with different ethnicities and cultures to really make the site more balanced and multicultural. Speaking of making some great roleplay, we know a lot of people are into the whole 'romance' angle and while we're hardly going to be the love boat it is often rather tricky to match up that single guy and girl with finding someone that might work. To this end it's worth checking out, or posting a ad to Lonely Hearts to explore roleplaying with another character. That said we do have a 'realism quality' that while 'love at first sight' is all well and good, most relationships are built up over a number of threads. The best romances are slow and give time for characters to really get to know each other before 'zooming to the bedroom scene' if youknow what i mean *winkwink* Okay as usual M has blabbered too long, but hey with so much going on it's hard not to get excited, runny noses be damned! .. now I'm off to write posties bye! |
