The Magical world today woke to a flurry of Werks and stories after last night's broadcast of Dunena Reid's Weird Weird World hinted, quite strongly that recently crowned Houglass Magazine's Person of the Year Dunena Reid, was set to enter the race for the 2012 American Magical Elections with no lesser sight then the Minister's position currently held by Ronald Frump.

Speaking to the Ministry this morning reporters where told that while some paperwork may have been received it was after the weekend cut-off and would not be looked at until the subsequent week at the earliest.. unless it had fallen on the desk of one F. Blake in which one just had to hope that it would be filed at all.

Considered a possible hoax a interview with Producer and year long associate of Mr Reid Benjamin Jefferson led to the following statement "The hell I know? Trust me man I'm usually the last to find out these things"

Yes ladies the roamers where true that none other then high flung socialite and darling of the European Ministry Fifi LaRoux has been sighted in Melbourne, Australia which has recently been named the worlds most livable city for a second time.

While none have stated what brought on the arrival of Miss LaRoux there's been no question that the world famous Hit Witch has made no secret of her visit with roamers of a behind closed doors meeting with the Minister for Magic himself before dining out at the exclusive Vue de Monde for drinks. Seemingly at home in the city Fifi underwent a tour of the Auror department before attending the midwinter launch of the Matacore 'Enchantment' line of fashion robes. Speaking exclusively to WWBN Fifi states that she was very pleased to be in Australia and would not commit to any return dates nor roamers that her visit had anything to do with attempts to influence the Australian Ministry to re-think it's ties to Ronald Frump's ministry.

WWBN World News : Pottermore to go head to head with Woozle?
Fri Jun 24, 2011 5:51 pmM
"In Global News today many Muggles the world over logged on to the unveiling of 'Pottermore' last night, a new co-production between 'JK', Warner Brothers and Muggle Game Man..Man..Manufacturer Sony. Promising to give Muggles and Wizards alike a whole new experience many prominent figures in the magical world have come out damning what they see as yet another crass profit making exercise at the expense of the magical community.

One Hogwarts teacher has stated that since this 'Pottermore thing' started they have been inundated with well over one thousand owls from worried parents, former students and others wishing to know if it would mean Muggles would be allowed to study at Hogwarts or.. worse the school was to give up it's long held stance amongst the only schools to not have it's own interweb network.

While many in the Wizarding World are concerned Woozle today speaking to WWBN-Japan was quoted as "Not at all Worried" while reminding Wizards and Muggles alike that "whatever Pottermore promises to be there is no doubt that with Sony it will only be a matter of time before hackers get it".

In other news the Australian Ministry of Magic has moved to deny any connection to a self-declaired witch jailed for recklessly causing serious injury and dangerous driving. The Australian Minister for Magic was quoted as calling the woman a 'Bloody Idiot' while reminding that no matter what world one thinks they belong to, the laws of Australia still apply.

Lady Luck, Where Are You? Empty Lady Luck, Where Are You?

Mon May 02, 2011 6:42 am
It was just his luck wasn't it?

Igor was in some random small town, trying to follow the scent of a certain few people that he was looking for. But this place was boring. It was night, of course, but seriously, what was there here? However, Igor wasn't paying attention to landmarks or anything like that. He was on the hunt, and not for his latest dinner guest. But the smell was growing weaker and it was making him upset. Igor wasn't sure why he was taking so much time to look for the girl, young adult, whatever the legal term was these days, but he had invested enough feeling, which was saying something what with his little black heart, to want to find out what the hell was up. If only he could find someone who could tell him something. But who to ask? There was no one. Or at least, no other smells that he could pinpoint with confidence.

He was getting rusty. Usually his sense of smell and finding people with it was keen. He had gotten lazy. Frustrated, Igor scowled and just walked down the sidewalk of this little town, trying to think of what he could do. There was only so much time before he had to head back to Melbourne to get to his safe haven from the sun.

Storm was glad she had apparated to the town from school rather than drove this particular time. She had begun to learn her way around somewhat during the day but things did look a bit different in the dark and she realized she had walked several blocks in the wrong direction as she headed to the video shop to visit with Olivia and maybe find a couple of dvds to watch in her room at school.

It was strange and funny how it had all worked out. It had started with the news that Professor Dragonsinger would be leaving her post to head up a new school further away. Apparently, heading up schools was becoming contagious because her father had also received a position as headmaster of a school back in Italy. Storm was happy for him and it had been a while since she had seen her father that excited. But she was not ready to head back to Italy just yet. Not now that she had finally figured out what she wanted to do with her life after school was finished.

One thing led to another and somehow both she and her best friend had ended up transferring schools and getting part time jobs, well at least Oli had. Storm was still hunting but the interview earlier seemed promising. For now, she was more interested in trying to figure out how to get to the right street for the video store. With a sigh, she began to look around to see if there was someone she could ask directions from.

Igor continued to walk, trying to catch a stronger, fresh scent but nothing was coming up, and it was making him even more frustrated than before. He would have scowled to his full potential, but having people see his fangs when he wasn’t interested in feeding was out of the question. He had no desire to eat, he had already done so back in Melbourne. Without a mess too, so that was a bonus. But as of right now Igor was in a one track minded mode, and he knew what he wanted to look for. And he wasn’t able to find her. Shoving his gloved hands into the pockets of his jeans, Igor walked, and walked, and walked. Man this place was boring, there was not anything here that he found even relatively interesting. Why would Olivia end up in a place like this, if the scent had indeed led him in the right direction?

Turning the corner, he caught a small whiff again, but it was too faint for him to be confident… But as he walked forward, a girl was walking towards him on the sidewalk and when he got a decent look at her, he narrowed his eyes before they widened in surprise that he managed to hide from his face. ”You…” Igor muttered to himself, thinking as to what the girl’s name was. It didn’t take too long before he got it. Storm.

”Storm.” Igor said simply, loud enough to get her attention as he stopped walking, wondering if she would respond… Or if it were actually her for a fact. He hoped it was Storm though, she would know where Olivia was, he knew it! He was quite certain it was her though. His usual smirk came to his face, she looked a bit lost, to him anyway. ”Don’t know where you’re going?” Igor asked the girl in question.

She had been looking around the area she was in trying to see if anything looked familiar so as to figure out which way to start walking. So far, nothing reminded her of anything she had seen during the day when in town. She was just about ready to consider trying to remember what the shop looked like to just apparate there when Storm heard someone call out her name and turned in the direction that the voice had come from. Well, she had wanted to find something familiar and guessed someone familiar was close enough. "Well, fancy meeting you here, Igor," she greeted the vampire wondering what he would be doing so far from Melbourne. At his question, she shrugged. "I know where I'm going, its the getting there that has apparently decided to be a problem. Haven't gotten quite used to the new town yet," she explained. "Bit far from your home field, aren't you?" she asked in return.

When Storm ended up looking up in his direction, Igor somewhat rejoiced inwardly. This was good, this meant he could get useful information out of her and then leave and go about his business. Of course, that was if she would tell him anything. Ah well, he would see what would happen. Harming the girl or threatening to gain information was out of the question. One, he owed her for bringing his undead self back from the dead and two, she was Olivia's friend, enough said there. At her greeting he shrugged and said, "Didn't exactly expect to see your face here of all places." At this point he didn't really care why or how, he just wanted information. And he was going to get it, somehow anyway.

New town? Hm... This was interesting to hear, moved in had she? No she was still a student if he remembered correctly. Was there a school somewhere nearby? Focus. "Don't look at me, I don't know jack about this place. However, tell me where you're going... maybe I passed by it." Longer he could get her to stick around and give him information, the better. Maybe Lady Luck would be kind to him tonight after all. Time to put on the nice behaviour and manners.

When Storm commented on him being far from his regular territory, Igor half grinned. Good, might as well cut to the chase. "I'm looking for her," was his reply, knowing that Storm would know who he meant by 'her'. "There one moment, gone the next. Managed to track her down to here, but I've lost the scent." Igor wouldn't admit it was partially his fault for getting rusty on how to track down someone you really wanted to find. Now here was the good question. "Where is she?"

While she may have brought him back from the dead undead dead, albeit unintentionally and without any knowledge that doing so was going to be one of the 'side effects' of her actions, Storm was Olivia's friend and therefore, protective of her friend just as Olivia tended to be protective of Storm. It was not that Storm would not want to see old friends such as Igor and Olivia (if that was an appropriate description of the pair, with those two you could never be sure), it was that she was not about to give out any information of any friend without knowing if said person wanted said inquiring minds to know. The National Enquirer Storm was not.

Of course, she would eventually reveal details but for now she was simply returning his comments and greetings with her own. "Well, could say the same about your face," Storm replied with a wry grin. "So you're lost, too?" she added when he admitted not knowing his way around the town as well. "Was running a few errands," she began until he commented about 'losing the scent'. "Scent? You're tracking someone?" she asked with a combination of surprise and amusement. Boy, Storm was fairly sure Olivia would just love to hear she was being 'hunted' like a 'prey'. At his explanation, she could only grin. "Her? Well, there's lots of 'hers' around here. There's teacher hers and barrista hers and even newspaper hers," she explained, having seen one of the reporters at the school doing an interview. "Depends on what type of her you're looking for."

Igor kept up the hope that just maybe this would be quick and easy and that he could find out where Olivia was and then… well, talk he guessed. Or whatever it was that would happen. He couldn’t think that far ahead at the moment. All he knew was that he had something to give her. However it looked like Storm was just answering back his questions as they came, almost like small banter back and forth, except without major league sarcasm. When she asked him if he were lost, Igor almost didn’t want to answer back, but hell, he’d never set foot in this part of Australia before, sticking mostly to Melbourne, and the occasional visit to Sydney. ”I guess you could say that, yeah,”” Igor finally admitted. When she commented with obvious surprise – and was that amusement too? – Igor sighed and crossed his arms over his chest. ”What? It’s how vampires find people faster than conventional means. And no, it’s not for dinner. This is important.” Or at least, Igor felt it was.

Her banter and evasion of his question was beginning to make Igor exasperated, but he was trying his best to keep somewhat calm though slight irritation was visible on his face. This was Storm’s friend, he couldn’t exactly extract information as he usual might. He had to be a nice little vampire. She wasn’t going to make this easy. ”Okay, fine. Look, I’m looking for Olivia,” Igor told Storm outright. ”I have something to give her. I have to find her. Unfinished conversations.” Igor fidgeted somewhat, shoving his hands back into the pockets of his jeans. Knowing that this was Storm though, Igor paused for a few moments. This was somewhat awkward, but it might just make things easier. ”…I’m not out to hurt her if that’s what you’re thinking.” Unless of course she had moved away to get away from him? How should Igor know? He hoped that wasn't the case, but he wouldn't know until he found her.

Storm bantering? Small talk? Her? Would you believe never? Rarely? How about almost never? How about........ Oh never mind. Even if you don't believe it, bantering was not something Storm would deliberately set out to do and she really had not at first but by the same token, she didn't give out information to every vampire that came along and definitely not ones that sparkled. Fortunately, for Igor's sake, he did not meet that last description. Had he sparkled, Storm might have had to knock that sparkly notsogoodness out of him. But that's another universe in itself (thank Goat!). She had to admit, she found humor in the fact Igor was rather lost in this section of Victoria. "You need to get out more, explore the wonders of the outback," she suggested with a bit of a grin.

However, Storm did listen as Igor tried to explain why he was searching for 'her', who he finally admitted was Olivia. Hmmm something to give her friend? Unfinished conversation? Merlin, this was beginning to get better than a cliff hanger episode of Werewolves of Our Lives or The Real Housewives of Old Melbourne Cemetary! Though as he tried to assure Storm that he would not hurt her friend, she narrowed her eyes and stared at him a moment. "Damn straight on that one, Igor. Just remember I brought you back into this world and I can take you out of it again." And if he harmed Olivia, Storm would definitely be working on her promise.

Lady Luck, Where Are You? Empty Re: Lady Luck, Where Are You?

It was true, Igor was rather lost in this place, the only logical direction he had had was the faint trace of Olivia but when that faded, he was no longer sure it was there, he was as lost as he could be. His only consolation was that he could just apparate back to Melbourne without much trouble. At Storm’s comment, Igor raised an eyebrow and gave an ungrateful scoff, telling her, ”From what I see the outback is small and probably boring as hell. Getting a meal out here, always first on the evening list, would gave havoc like you couldn’t imagine.” The loss of one person would likely be compared to the loss of a dozen families in a place like this. An exaggeration of course, but we digress. His experiences back in Eastern European villages would attest to rural eating. ”But that’s besides the point,” he added after, before he got into his explanation as to why he was here in the first place.

Whatever Storm’s thoughts were on his explanation, Igor wouldn’t have cared, and wasn’t at all interested in attempting to sift through her mind to find out. Had he did, he would have raised an eyebrow at some of the strange soap opera names. But then… there we go, that seemed to set her off a bit, Igor noticed. The moment he mentioned harm against Olivia at his hands, that got Storm to narrow her eyes. Interesting nonetheless. Her statement made him roll his eyes somewhat. ”Yes, yes, thank you for bringing me to life. However, not only you can take me out, just about anyone can,” Igor told her, though he wasn’t going to spend hours arguing or even just discussing the idea of him hurting Olivia. ”Fact is, the warning has been noted Storm. Now, would you care to let me know where she is?” Igor asked once again, hands still shoved in the pockets of his jeans. He had of course all night to search, but that was besides the point. Repressing a sigh, he added with some slight hesitation, ”Please?”

Well, Storm wasn't so sure how small the outback was but she had a feeling it would probably be boring as hell, at least to vampires. He was also probably right that his 'dinner order' probably wouldn't be as well hidden there as it was in the large city. It wasn't quite besides the point as it seemed Igor had missed the point completely, which was travel and see more of Australia, something Storm had in mind to do once school was over and she was preparing to go to Uni. However, travel and tour destinations for Igor were neither here nor there at the moment as she was needing to see Olivia, especially now with the news Igor was wanting to see her and also would have to get back to her quarters at the school.

"What warning? It's a promise," she assured him but was glad he understood that she would not accept him hurting Olivia in any way, shape or form. "I do know where she is but first, what is it you have for her? Why so important?" Storm knew how Olivia felt about Igor, or at least had a good idea, after all things were rather confusing. However, she wanted to be sure whatever Igor wanted to so desparately see her friend for was not going to result in causing the girl heartbreak.

Igor shrugged his shoulder and said, ”Fine, whatever, a promise. Either way, it’s noted, so let’s move on.” Less time more talk, and more information, Igor was hoping at least. But it looked like now they were moving forward.. until Storm asked him what he had for Olivia and why it was important. Igor’s first thought was that she was being ungratefully nosy in his affairs, but then, if she was that protective of her friend, he supposed it was a justifiable question. But there were parts she had no reason to know about. He would make certain of that, since at this point the only person he had to speak fully to was Olivia. He hadn’t quite forgotten the Halloween night.

”It’s an item I have in my possession. A clarinet case if you must really know, and another item” he told Storm, not saying anything about the second item, that music box. His purpose for it? The importance? ”It’s importance? The clarinet case is a gift, and the other item… is not something I wish to discuss with you, only Olivia,” Igor told Storm evenly, though he added, ”No, there’s no bomb, or evil note of death wishing attached. I’ll tell you what though, it, I suppose, can mark a year’s time from a meeting we had at a park, I don’t remember the name.” Ah yes, that meeting had been interesting. Thinking about that, and what had been said between the two of them later at Halloween, well, he would see what would happen in due time. He had told her he would show her everything at some point. He would of course, leave the time to her discretion.

”I just want to know where she is, whether or not I see her tonight or immediately isn’t as important. I need to know where I can find her.” Would Storm just tell him something already? At this rate it would be sunrise before he learned anything, and Igor didn't exactly want to turn to a nice Crispy Igor Flambe.

Storm hoped Igor really understood she was serious about finding him if he ever hurt Olivia in any way. But she was intrigued by his telling her he had a clarinet case in his position. Now this was interesting since Storm had helped Olivia unpack at the new house and she had her clarinet case with her then. As far as Storm knew, and from the way Igor was talking, it appeared that there was no way she could have left it for Igor to have to bring to her. This meant someone was buying gifts for her friend. Interesting to say the least. Which he then proceeded to admit to. "Awfully nice gift," she commented, raising eyebrows at the news it was for one year from the day that the pair had first met while Olivia was out wandering. "She's in town. Working," Storm finally told him.

At this point Igor wasn’t sure what to expect anymore, but he would wait and see and hope that he got some sort of answer. Anything would do, he was a smart vampire, he could figure things out if only he got a small lead to work with. When Storm commented on the gift he had gotten for Olivia, Igor rolled his eyes but he didn’t say anything at first. Whatever it was that Storm was thinking in her head, Igor was happy that he wasn’t listening in. Nor did he exactly want to listen in. Igor finally acknowledged Storm’s comment and said, ”Yeah, well…” He trailed off, better to quit while he was ahead. Igor had caught the raised eyebrows when he spoke of the gift he had gotten Olivia and the year since seeing Olivia at the park. He didn’t have to give explanations to anyone though. Or at least, unless they were asked of him directly, to which Igor would probably either lie through his teeth, or flip them off. ”I felt like getting it for her. Enough said," Igor finished, somewhat lamely. Slightly awkward area of conversation was awkward.

And there we go! Finally, some sort of a clue was given by Storm, to which Igor was at least thankful for. So she worked in this little place did she? Okay, that was a start… even though Storm didn’t exactly say where. Could she be on her way there right now? It was possible. ”She works in this town? Okay,” Igor said, thinking what he could do next. To ask or not to ask, that was the question. Either way, he would figure it out himself with or without Storm’s help. Might as well see what happened. ”Trying to find your way there, I take it?” Igor commented, ”Since you looked so perpetually lost when I got here.”

Now, Igor took a moment to look at the girl and he thought about something for a moment. Curiosity killed the cat, but then again, he was technically dead, so what did he care? ”How is it you got to be such a close friend to Olivia?” His curious tone was slightly obvious but he tried not to make it overly there. Whether or not she spoke, Igor didn’t really care all that much, though if she did, that would be quite the bonus.

Really, it was not rocket science to figure out what was going on here with Igor and a certain friend named Olivia. Storm had her suspicions but was not going to pry, at least not with Igor. She'd talk to Olivia later and see what her friend had to say about the current events that were unfurling. For now, she simply nodded at Igor's 'yeah'. She wasn't going to pry further and at least he was willing to give a bit of an explanation which is why she did finally admit Olivia was working here. "Yes, in town," though she didn't say anything more as there was the sound of lilting music. Not quite music box quality but with a distinct tone all its own. It was then Storm realized she had not had dinner since she had planned to see if Oli wanted her to pick up something for Oli's break time.

"Mr. Whippy!" Storm exclaimed as the van came into view. "Would you want one?" she offered Igor, not sure if he could eat one or not but willing to treat the vampire to a Mr Whippy if he so desired. Once she had Igor's reply, she went over and made the purchase and returned to his question about how they became friends. She tilted her head as she took a bite of her ice cream and thought a moment. "We were both feeling, well kind of lost at the school. Someone I thought was a friend had pulled away and she was feeling rather ... Well, it was all new to her.. the school, the magic, everything."

Okay, good, so Olivia was in town, that was helpful. But it seemed the timing was off, as Storm got distracted by the sound of music. Igor hadn’t been paying attention so he hadn’t heard it coming. At first it faintly reminded him of a music box, though he didn’t freeze or anything, as when the music got closer to his sensitive hearing, Igor could tell it wasn’t anything like a music box. Much lower quality, but oh well. When a van came Igor was a bit confused as to why Storm called out ‘Mr. Whippy’ but once it was clear, he realized it was just an ice cream truck. For a brief moment Igor remembered eating ice cream with Ivan when they were just toddlers, but he shook that out of his head.

”Uh… No, we can’t eat ice cream,” Igor offered, not actually sure about that though, ever since he became a vampire he had never tried to eat ice cream. Not to mention he didn’t want to think back to his childhood. He just watched as Storm went to get herself some ice cream and when she came back, he gave him an answer to his question. Thinking back on when he first met Olivia, oh yes, she had been very curious about vampires. ”Explains her curiosity when I first saw her,” Igor commented.

Then Igor remembered, when Storm mentioned herself, but realized that probably wasn’t the right person. ”Ah, fair enough I guess. Whatever,” Igor said with a shrug. His thoughts went back to Olivia again and he asked, ”Out of all the kids I ever tried to frighten after curfew at the school, I have to say she was the only one not to get freaked out. Goes to show how either everyone else was just a pansy, or she was just much to curious about a vampire.”

"Oh," she replied as he explained his 'no'. "Sorry?" she said tentatively as she took off for the Mr. Whippy van to get her 'dinner', not sure if it was a disappointment to the vampire or not. Never mind the fact everything had been new to Olivia, Storm was finding herself curious about vampires and how things were for them as she discovered small things like that. However, Storm had to laugh at Igor's comment about the magical world being all new to Olivia being an explanation for her curiosity. "Yes, she definitely can be curious about anything that interests her. Like vampires, zombies and voodoo and pretty much everything!"

The laughter came even harder when Igor admitted she was the only one he did not terrify like some of the other new students to the school. "Right, scaring Oli? Not happening," Storm commented, "At least, not something like that," she added. "I think there were a couple students there who were more afraid of her than of you," she said, half jokingly.

Igor shrugged his shoulder and said, ”Meh, don’t waste your breath with saying sorry.” There was really no need for it. He couldn’t eat ice cream, big bloody deal. He waited though as Storm went to go and get herself the ice cream from that Mr. Whippy van, and Igor wondered to himself what sort of name was Mr. Whippy? He managed to not shake his head as he tried to get thoughts of trying to find out if ice cream would be handled by his system or if he would get ill from its consumption. He managed to get his mind off of ice cream, despite Storm eating some at the moment. What really helped was Storm’s laugh when he commented about the magical world and Olivia’s curiosity about it. Igor blinked and frowned, crossing his arms over his chest and waiting for a reply.

When he got it, he said, ”Considering she asked me if I sparkled, that showed me her lack of knowledge. The imagine was rather haunting though… Sparkling vampires? Really?” That still had been one of the more ludicrous ideas he had never heard. ”Zombies and voodoo doesn't surprise me.” At the idea that scaring Olivia wasn’t likely, and that there were likely students who were afraid of her, Igor gave a little sadistic sneer, so that one of his fangs could be seen. ”Oh you got that right,” he told her, recalling that one lovely incident where he had scared the student half to death. That had been fun, though he and Ivan had gotten into a good fight over it. ”Though I did manage quite a few scares there, and boy was it fun. Made a boy around sixth year piss himself as he ran off back into the school.”

”She’s not what most people would consider average,” Igor finally said, letting his hands fall to his side. Which she wasn’t, average that is. And he rather enjoyed that fact, though he’d never actually admit it out loud to just anyone.

Storm's mind wandered and she wondered whether a vampire could get the munchies or not which then reminded her of a conversation she had back at her old school when another classmate and her were going over Wandless Magic notes after class one day and the other girl brought up something about 'special' brownies and how after eating them you ended up hungrier than ever cause of one of the ingredients, which Storm later learned the name of. This then led to Storm wondering if that ingredient could actually affect vampires and what happened if they got the munchies. This would have been really a conundrum if they could not eat things like ice cream because it seemed to Storm that when people got these 'maryjane munchies' as she heard them referred to, it was never for nutritional foods but always the sugary, yummy foods.

In spite of all the meandering her mind was doing on the topic of vampires with munchies, Storm was completely following the conversation with Igor. With all the publicity going on with a movie soon to be released, Storm had to grin at Igor's rant regarding the species of VampiricaSparkleFarkle that a children's author had created. "Fortunately for the sake of all mankind, Muggle and magical, it is imaginary but if no one's had any encounters with the real magical world or even Bram Stoker's telling of it, then," she looked sadly at Igor, "I'm afraid that's what a lot of people are thinking you all are like."

As they moved on to zombies and voodoo, Storm grinned even more, especially when Igor stated Olivia was definitely not average. "Nope not at all."

Igor managed to stop thinking about ice cream and subsequently his childhood by thinking about heading back to Melbourne and grabbing a snack before going in before the sunrise. If he could find a nice A+ snack, then he would be a happy vampire, and that thought made him grin a little bit to himself. But then for a brief moment he thought that at one point, when alone of course, he would try and see if ice cream could indeed be handled by his vampiric system. Not that he would tell anyone that he would do that. In the meantime, his thoughts returned to the present and thus Igor had begun his, well, rant at the idea of sparkling vampires. Honestly…

And listening to Storm’s comment, Igor was bloody well happy that those sort of vampires were nothing but a piece of fiction. Even that Muggle Stoker had the right idea going on with Dracula. Igor always did wonder if Dracula really had become a vampire, no one ever did find the body, that he knew of. However, at the idea that sparkling vampires were becoming the staple view of muggles on the species, Igor did what really could be interpreted as a facepalm, and shook his head. ”Absolutely… Honestly, do muggles not have standards anymore?? At least Stoker had the right idea going on. Killing and blood sucking and staying inside during the day… Not sparkling like some pansy,” Igor complained. It was times like this he seriously wondered when muggles should find out more about the magical world… and learn a thing or two.

Glancing down at Storm, he raised an eyebrow at her grin, but was satisfied to hear her agree that Olivia was not average. Of course, a new question popped up into his head and he commented, ”I’ve always wondered about zombies… Never actually seen anyone reanimating the dead.” It would be interesting to see, to say the least. ”I have however seen voodoo in action. Nasty stuff,” though his grin spoke volumes about how entertaining it was. ”Why this place though?” Curious question number… whatever number he was on at this point.

"Well, some Muggles have standards," Storm defended them to the vampire. "Some can't help it if they have no idea about what's really out there and have to depend on bad fiction to learn. In this particular case, they happen to sparkle... Oh and are 'vegetarians'. Though if it's from animals, I really can't see how they can use that term for them but, eh, better than reading about them sinking their fangs into a grapefruit or watermelon," Storm told him. "Guess they have to entertain themselves somehow," she finished.

At Igor's comment about zombies and never witnessing reanimation, she raised an eyebrow. "You're here, aren't you?" she said, dryly. "Voodoo, yeah it can be. Though you get Nonna going with some good solid strega, not too sure Voodoo will hold up," she added, with a smile at the thoughts of her grandmother and good old style Italian magic.

And finally, Igor again turned the questions back to where she and Olivia were now. "New school. Better, nicer. More individualized. Why not?"

Igor rolled his eyes when Storm went and defended the Muggle population, and while she did have a point or two… One, he would never admit to it, and two, he didn’t really care where they got their information from, even if it was bad fiction. The least they could do was find some decent fiction to base their ideas from. However, at one point Igor pulled a class ‘wtf’ face and said, ”Vegetarian? Yet drinking animal blood?” That made no sense, at all. ”I’m not going to question the logic of that.” And indeed, Igor wasn’t going to waste precious thinking moments on such a thing. He couldn’t however stop himself from gagging a bit at the mention of grapefruit. Bad memories, oh yes. ”Good for them I suppose. As long as their entertained. If only they had any idea of what its really like. It would revolutionize movies as muggles know it.” That would be a sight to see.

And Igor rolled his eyes at her dry comment. ”I didn’t mean like that, smartass. I mean taking a perfectly dead corpse, without turning it into a vampire, and raising out of the ground to kill, maim, and eat brains.. and other vital organs that they might enjoy.” Honestly… At Storm’s mention of whatever the hell strega was, Igor raised an eyebrow to show that he was a bit lost. ”Well, I don’t know for a fact, but some forms of necromancy can be rather nasty. I’m sure that might hold up against voodoo… and whatever that strega stuff is.”

”Ah,” was Igor’s reply to her answer to his question. ”Well, whatever floats your boats, doesn’t matter to me. Just curious,” he replied back, as curiosity killed the cat, but then he was already dead wasn’t he? ”So then I assume you both work in this place? Eh… What’s this place called again?” Igor hadn’t paid attention to names.

"Guess they consider it vegetarian if its not human?" she offered, but like Igor, couldn't see the sense of that at all. "Hmmm, it would, wouldn't it?" Storm said, ideas already generating within her mind. She'd have to mention that to Olivia and see if there wasn't something that could be done. Magical movies or something. Surely it had been thought of already? Storm definitely grinned when Igor called her a 'smartass' taking it as a compliment. Really, what he was describing was rather close to describing himself, barring the maiming and digesting vital organs. Or maybe he did. Storm didn't know and she sure wasn't planning on asking. Of course, judging by what he was saying, there was a good chance she could tell he did not feast as a zombie did. "Strega is Italian old magic," she answered when he mentioned it again. "Well, she works. I'm still searching for a part time job, and, of course, our classes at school near here," she explained, adding, "Warragul. The town's name is Warragul."

At Storm’s suggestion as to why the muggles would call it vegetarian, Igor gave a snort and shook his head. Muggles sometimes… ”Ignorance is bliss I guess,” Igor commented, knowing that was the deal with muggles, they had no idea about anything. But oh well, it wasn’t like they could do much about it. Granted Igor wasn’t paying any attention at all to what thoughts were going about in Storm’s head, nor did he really think of bothering to look into it. Instead he noticed that when he called her a smartass she was grinning to no end. He assumed that she probably found it amusing.

Zombies. Igor would have thought of reading up about them had he been the kind of person… eh, vampire to do so. He always thought vampires that ate the vital organs and body parts were strange, he preferred the classic way of eating. Well, unless there was a grudge involved… oh, those had been the days. Coming back to the present, Igor paid attention, and didn’t say much when she explained that the hell Strega was. He knew nothing of Italian magic. ”Right. Okay,” was all he said. Get him on the topic of Russian magic and necromancy, and Igor would be able to talk. ”I still say necromancy might be able to hold up against it,” he said, knowing fully well that he had no idea if it actually good, so he said that with a slight fanged grin on his face.

”Warragul?” Igor repeated, thinking to himself that Australia had the strangest names for cities and towns. Then again, people would say the same of good old Mother Russia. He did take in the information that Olivia worked here, Storm was looking for work, and their school was nearby. That was useful to know. Seeing as this place seemed so small though, he wondered, ”So enlighten me, what exactly does this place have?” Igor had been so used to living in big cities all his life, a small place like this was not his usual territory.

"Maybe sometimes but ignorance is what usually leads to prejudice, bigotry and hate," she said rather seriously. If one did not know better, one might think Storm had been spending most of her free time researching the history of Muggles United and why it was formed. Actually, if one knew better, they'd know that's pretty much what she had been doing. "And then it's not very blissful for the victims." Yes, Storm was very serious about how horrid that was. However, his compliment of calling her a 'smartass' managed to restore the more jovial mood of their conversation. Now there's a adjective you'd not expect to hear when connected in a discussion involving Igor Drakov, amazing how times change!

Amazing how easily Igor walked into the comment about necromancy holding up to strega magic. "Oh ya think?" she asked, raising an eyebrow. "So, necromancy would have brought you back just like strega did?" Looks like that one was a score for Italian magic.

On the subject of Warragul, Storm had managed to learn a few things about the area as she explored and hunted for a part time job during the day. "Well, considering it's a regional centre, it's not quite as big as Melbourne but definitely a big city, not a small town like where I moved from to here. So it's where everyone comes to go shopping and stuff."

The turn of her voice into a much more serious tone made Igor raise his eyebrow a little bit. She did have a point though, kudos to her he supposed. ”Yeah, they do get shafted a lot, depending on… whatever happens to them,” Igor commented. "I guess that's why they came out with those groups, what's it called... Muggles United? Something like that." Igor never really cared to differentiate between Muggle and magical meals, so to speak. He would look for a specific group of people that didn’t deserve to hang around and breath. Not that he would tell anyone that… well, bar one person, but Igor shook those thoughts out of his head. Whatever, at least his calling her a smartass seemed to lighten up the mood that needed lightening up. Though it was certainly unintentional lightening he would assure people.

When she brought up strega versus necromancy and she brought up his coming back from the dead, hell, wherever he had been, Igor scoffed and said, ”How the hell should I know? I couldn’t have performed necromancy on myself. Last known Valentin to have practiced necromancy was my mother’s father, and he’s been dead a long time. Drakovs didn’t practice it.” Well, that he knew of. And then, after bringing that up, he looked at Storm and asked, ”How did you bring me back anyway??” He never bothered to find her again to find out how she did it.

Igor just nodded when she explained Warragul, it was useful information to know, and he would keep it locked up in his head. Of course, it was really then that he recalled the circumstances under which they met and he said, ”So, you were looking for some place, right?” Sigh, it might be in his best favour to be nice. She was Olivia’s best friend after all. ”I can help you look in you want.”
